Currently defined as a powerful and important person, the term "bigwig" originated in the 17th century, when European nobility wore large wigs to show their high status. This series from the Pikes Peak Library District's 2014 Regional History Symposium, "Bigwigs & Benefactors of the Pikes Peak Region," presents a look at some of the significant people who have impacted the Pikes Peak region's history and development.
